I enjoy teaching art history, painting and drawing, as well as professional practices and career coaching. Private or small group lessons are available, tailored to the student' needs and desires.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I believe that my responsibility - and privilege - as a teacher is to enable my students with resilience, hope, and fortitude. This I carry out by cultivating curiosity, and by equipping my students with analyzation methods to discover self-awareness. I also strive to provide an encouraging atmosphere that instills bravery.

n my interpersonal approach, I seek to identify each student's individual desires to evolve into the best version of him or herself. In my lesson plans, I endeavor to include visual, aural, and verbal touchpoints to create meaningful entry points for each style of learning. I set clear expectations that establish a safe and positive classroom atmosphere. I highlight intended learning outcomes as a "vision statement" for the class. The students then envision the course's goals through real-life examples which keeps them invested in reaching the learning outcomes.

Having received my education in the liberal arts, I love to create connections across history, between people, weaving through schools of thought. These I present to the students as a bridge so they may recall these connections to increase their quality of life and desire to learn.
